AGMARK (short for Agricultural Marketing) is a certification mark that guarantees the quality and purity of agricultural and food products in India. Administered by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI) under the Ministry of Agriculture, AGMARK grading is available for over 200 commodities including ghee, honey, butter, wheat flour (atta), spices, pulses, and edible oils. While not mandatory for all products, AGMARK certification is a powerful trust signal, especially in B2B distribution where bulk buyers and institutional customers demand quality assurance.

AGMARK grades vary by commodity. For ghee, the grades are Special, General, and Standard, each with defined thresholds for fat content, moisture, and adulteration.
